Privacy notice

Version 1.0. Last updated 21 October 2026.

The short version

The Sellers Register is a community for sales professionals. Your record on it is yours, and we hold the data behind it in trust.

We use your data to run the Register, The Register Academy and our events. We share your record only with the people you say yes to. We don't sell it or rent it to anyone.

We don't buy lists. We don't take anyone's details from another network unless that person has agreed.

You choose who sees your record, and you can change your mind at any time. You can ask us to show you, correct, download or delete your data.

Before we rely on legitimate interests, we write down how we weighed our interest against yours. You can ask to see that assessment.

Who sees your record

You decide. Your record is visible only to you until you choose who else can see it.

Each kind of visibility is a separate, explicit choice, and each starts switched off. The choices we offer may change over time, but they always stay in your control.

We plan to add services for employers, recruiters, headhunters and funders later. Before any of them starts, we'll update this notice. Each will need your separate yes, and none will see your record without it.

Nominations for the Black Book will work under criteria we'll publish before the first nominations. A place is renewed each year if the member stays actively engaged and still meets the criteria.

Invitations, referrals and credits

You can invite a seller you rate to join. You send the invitation yourself, with your own link and your own words.

We don't ask for the other person's contact details, and we don't message them. If they join through your link, we record that link.

You earn credits once they've confirmed their email, completed their record and stayed a member for 30 days.

Credits buy training. They never count towards a Black Book nomination or place.

Marketing

We only send you news and offers if you've said yes. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and you can change your mind in your account at any time.

We don't send marketing to people who haven't opted in. We don't buy or rent contact lists.

If the Register changes hands

We hold member data in trust. If the Register is ever restructured, merged or sold, your data moves only to a new owner bound by this notice.

We'll tell you at least 90 days before it moves. You can close your account and have your data deleted before then.

If we close the Register, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice, and you'll be able to download your record first.

Where your data is kept

If we or our suppliers ever process your data outside the UK, we'll name the countries here first. We'll also name the safeguard that protects it.

How we protect it

Our systems may flag a sign-up or a credit transfer that looks wrong. A person reviews it before we act. If we plan to suspend or close your account, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to reply.
